meatballantlers.jpg

This is an update from last year, Meatball : someone in a delivery truck near the landfill in Brooklyn witnessed people pushing a Bulldog out of a moving car, then speeding off. The driver picked up poor Meatball, his children named him, but they were unable to keep him so they called LIBR. Meatball was adopted by a great family, this is what they say:
As you can see meatball is doing wonderful and we can never thank you enough for bringing him into our life.  In this picture he is in his favorite chair, from this chair, which is in the living room,  he can watch me in the kitchen and look down the hallway to the office and bedrooms.  Since he is deaf he watches everything and everyone. I blow kisses to him as I make eye contact many times a day.  I also wake him up at night so that he knows we are going to bed and he soon follows to his own bed near ours. ..

Hammer and Sweetpea (aka Hyacinth) came on a transport by Best Friends, to North Shore Animal League. Like many Bullies who spend their lives in a crate, Hammer was stressed by the new situation. He was in a large crate on an air conditioned, specially designed transport vehicle. With it all, he was overheating, and the transport stopped along the way to get Hammer  veterinary care. He is fine now after a couple of days on oxygen.Hammer has been adopted , and is having a wonderful life in the country.
Sweetpea is 5 yrs old, had quite a few pups in her life. Other than the usual ear and eye infections she is in pretty good shape. Sweetpea is a friendly, very playful girl who would prefer to be an only dog, she has had enough, and would like to relax in a home of her own, with a nice soft bed.
Big thanks to Beth Stern for helping us get these pups from North Shore Animal League.

UPDATE! Simba is doing much better. He responded to medication, and now is better on his balance. He will never be 100%, and he has loss of vision in the eye that was hit, but he is happy in a new home and his new family adores him
